BCBS of Illinois Selects CCP Certification for Nurses

Blue Cross-Blue Shield of Illinois recently selected CCP certification for their disease management program staff, hosting an on-site weekend CCP session on January 18th and 19th at their Chicago headquarters. Based on the response to the first session, a second session was scheduled for April 18th and 19th. According to Carol Dall, Director of Wellness and Condition Management at BCBS of Illinois "We're pleased to again offer this exceptional program to our staff. We continue to receive excellent feedback from our nurses who attended the January session and are confident that the CCP program will support the continued development and success of our health coaching program. We are very happy with the range of evidence-based, practical strategies and interventions for improving member engagement, behavior change and lifestyle management included in the CCP program." BCBS of Illinois is Illinois' largest health plan with 4 million+ members. In a 2008 NCQA national evaluation of US health plans, BCBS of IL achieved top ranking among all Illinois health plans in preventative and chronic care outcome measures.
